Our central mission is "to conserve, protect and restore the health and integrity of the Earth's ecosystem" (RIO DECLARATION ON ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT) in the spirit of the ENCYCLICAL LAUDATO SI’and the ENCYCLICAL UT UNUM SINT.
The Francis of Assisi Academy is an ecumenical institution, founded in the Catholic Church as part of the ecumenical movement. The academy is open and closely connected to all Christians, christian churches, world religions and all faith communities.
The work of the Francis of Assisi Academy is a contribution to the ecumenical process for peace, justice and the care of creation and an ecumenical contribution to the Rio-follow-up process. The academy's goal is the protection of our Earth for future generations. The academy is dedicated to the study of and dialogue about the implementation of the "Encyclical Laudato Si" in the context of our churches and contemporary society.

The purpose of the academy is the promotion of education, science and research for the protection of the Earth and Humanity and here especially in the following areas:
Our academy is a dedicated to further promoting knowledge and implementation of the encyclical laudato si. We support the change to a global sustainable development and the implementation of Laudato Si with innovative, ethical and scientific projects.
